Mani Jewel | 摩尼宝珠
Mani Jewel is inspired by the Cintāmaṇi, the wish-fulfilling jewel found throughout Buddhist traditions. It symbolizes wisdom, compassion, and the luminous potential held within consciousness.
The artwork is created as an ālambana—a support upon which attention and intention may rest. In the practice of dhāraṇā, an ālambana gives the mind a point of focus, repeatedly guiding it back whenever it becomes scattered. Here, the Mani Jewel serves as a visual anchor for the viewer’s aspirations.
In everyday life, we continually imagine possibilities beyond our present condition. We may wish to strengthen the body, cultivate discipline, save toward something meaningful, transform the way we live, or bring a long-held dream into reality. Yet within the movement and distractions of daily life, these intentions can easily become distant or forgotten.
The Mani Jewel is placed before the viewer as a reminder of these deeper commitments. Each encounter with the artwork becomes an opportunity to remember one’s higher aspirations, renew one’s intention, and return attention to the direction one has chosen.
The jewel does not promise fulfilment without action. It holds the vision steady while the viewer moves toward it. In this sense, manifestation is the meeting of aspiration, sustained attention, and conscious action.
At the same time, the work carries a prayer extending beyond the individual: that every person may recognize the vision within them, find the strength to remain devoted to it, and see their dreams come to fulfilment.

《Mani Jewel｜摩尼宝珠》は、仏教に伝わる、あらゆる願いを成就させる宝珠「チンターマニ」から着想を得た作品です。宝珠が放つ光には、智慧と慈悲、そして人の内側に宿る可能性が重ねられています。
この作品は、見る人にとっての「アーランバナ（所縁）」となることを意図して制作されました。アーランバナとは、ダーラナ（集中）の実践において、意識を定めるための支えとなる対象を意味します。心が散漫になったとき、そこへ視線と意識を戻すことで、自分が向かおうとしていた方向を思い出させてくれるものです。
私たちは日々、今の自分を越えた未来を思い描きながら生きています。身体を整えること、新しい習慣を身につけること、何かのためにお金を貯めること、長く抱いてきた夢を実現すること。その願いは一人ひとり異なりますが、日常の忙しさや迷いの中で、最初に抱いた志を見失ってしまうことがあります。
画面の中心にある摩尼宝珠は、心の奥に宿る願いや、これからなりたい自分へと意識を戻すための焦点です。この作品を見るたびに、自分が何を大切にし、どこへ向かおうとしているのかを思い出す。繰り返し意識を向けることで、願いは曖昧な憧れから明確な意志へと変わり、日々の選択や行動へと結びついていきます。
宝珠は、何もしなくても願いを叶えてくれるものではありません。目指す未来を見失わないよう、その光を保ち続ける存在です。願い、意識を向け、行動する。その積み重ねによって、まだ形のないヴィジョンは、少しずつ現実の中に姿を現していきます。
